Hearth Cooking Saturday: 19th Century Christmas Fare

$3The day’s menu includes mincemeat pie, pumpkin pie, winter vegetable soup, White Pot, and doughnuts.
Our costumed interpreters, Samuel and Nancy Prescott, will share Christmas traditions and tell you about daily life in the mill house, a foreman’s home for the Phoenix Mill. Samuel Prescott was an overseer at the Phoenix Mill, a large textile complex that once stood at the corner of Main and Grove Streets in downtown Peterborough. The Phoenix Mill House is located directly behind our main building (19 Grove Street, Peterborough).
Hearth Cooking Saturdays are drop-in programs. Stay for just a few minutes or linger by the fire enjoy samples of the historic recipes and good conversation.
Hearth Cooking Saturday is free with museum admission ($3/ free for members and children under 12).
