Immigrant Stories: Curator’s Gallery Talk
October 31 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Learn the stories of immigrant families who left their homelands to make a new life in the Monadnock Region in this special exhibit at the Monadnock Center. Through images, family stories, and objects, Immigrant Stories traces the journeys and lives of immigrants from the British Isles, Italy, Quebec, Lebanon, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
After the guided gallery talk, guests will enjoy three exhibit interactives. See if you would pass the citizenship test by answering civics and government questions posed to prospective citizens; pin the home country of your immigrant ancestors on our world map; and take home recipes from the immigrant families highlighted in the display.
Learn more about the exhibit in this article from the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript.
Gallery Talks are free with museum admission ($3/ free for Monadnock Center members and children under 12).
Immigrant Stories is on view Wednesday- Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through December 21, 2019.
