Experience the beauty of a large wooded area in a convenient location north of downtown Keene. Goose Pond is Keene’s largest open space of 1,044 acres and it features a 2-mile relatively flat loop, moderately trafficked trail around the 42-acre pond. Formerly a reservoir with public restrictions, the surrounding 130-year-old mature tree forest has been meticulously maintained. Mountain bikers can be frequently spotted riding down from the several connector trails to Drummer Hill Conservation Area. Foliage around the pond makes this day hike a popular choice in the fall. Leashed dogs are welcomed.
