Beautiful, easy to access lake and recreation area off Route 101 has about 4 miles of easy trails, a beach, boat launch, picnic areas with grills, two pavilions, and horseshoe pits. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers built the dam to control the Nubanusit Brook. It created a 165-acre lake and over 1,000 acres of recreational land filled with various trees, wetlands, shorelines, and abundant wildlife. Corps rangers continue to manage the area’s natural resources to promote a healthy forest. Interpretive programs are offered seasonally on weekends. Leashed dogs welcomed.
