The former Madame Sherri “castle” ruins are accessible by a short walk from the parking lot. Sense Madame Sherri as you walk around the stone remains of a foundation, fireplace, chimneys, and a grand stone staircase. Venture beyond the ruins into the 513-acre forest along the 2-mile Anne Stokes Loop Trail and find several scenic viewpoints and access to multiple miles of trails in the abutting Wantastiquet State Forest and Daniels Mountain. Connection trails lead to Pisgah State Park, Gap Mountain Reservation, Mount Monadnock and beyond. Visit the kiosk in the parking lot to learn about the scandalous past of Madame Antoinette Sherri, a New York City costume designer.
