Pitcher Mountain is a perfect “sampler” hike of the best views that southwestern NH has to offer with the least hiking effort to enjoy it. This 2,153-foot isolated mountain is traversed by the 50-mile Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway. It features a 360-degree view of Mount Monadnock and the Green and White Mountains. Climb the fire tower for an even better view, or venture out into the extensive blueberry field at the summit for a tasty treat in July. A 0.8-mile out-and-back trail to the summit has an easy 300 feet of elevation gain through forested areas and passing near fields and a farm. For the more adventurous person, the trail at the summit (the M-S Greenway) continues another couple of miles north to Hubbard Hill, which features another, even larger blueberry patch with an awesome view.
