Wales Preserve

Incredibly scenic trail for a comparatively short venture into a hemlock preserve with a 1.2-mile relatively flat forested loop trail. It showcases multiple cascading falls along the Gridley River, which runs swiftly in the spring. Wildflowers and ferns can be seen along the lush banks from the end of spring and through the summer. There are several viewing spots and stepping stones to catch a better glimpse of the rushing waters. Wildlife is abundant in this area, particularly deer, beavers, and hares. It is a convenient spot to feel far from everything and connect with nature. Please leave pets at home, they are not allowed in the preserve.
